Muni Bahadur Shakya and Vinod Dhakal from the IT sector were honored at the 38th anniversary ceremony of the National Press Club of Nepal. The program was organized on the occasion of the International Day of Peace 2022. Muni Bahadur Shakya, a computer expert who has been continuously working in the field of computer innovation for more than 4 decades, has been honored by the ICTI Invocen National Citizen Award 2079. Muni Bahadur Shakya has successfully used dozens of computer inventions in Nepal including microcomputer in 1979, Devanagari computer in 1983, supercomputer in 2006, green computer (running on 35 watt electricity consumption).
Shakya, who has built technological devices such as Nepali robots, security devices, and telescopes, has a deep passion for computer innovation. Shakya still has a computer machine worth 40 million worth of computers, but the state has not yet recognized Shakya's innovations.
Similarly, Er. Binod Dhakal is one of the awardees from the ICT sector. Dhakal has been honored with the ICT Leadership National Citizen Award 2079 for his significant contribution to the field of ICT for 2 decades by the CAN Federation and the computer business sector. He is the former president of Dhakal Can Federation. Dhakal played an important role in the establishment of the CAN Federation, which unites ICT professionalsin the district.
