NTC launched chatbot service and Maina' robot answering all questions asked by customers

Nepal Telecom (NT) has recently launched a chatbot service. The state-owned telecommunication service provider had announced the soft launch of the chatbot amid a program held to mark its 17th anniversary on February 4.

The robot named "Maina" was launched today at the NT office in Sundhara, Office Chief Dinesh Chandra Panthi said. It is a demo version and would be employed later. The initiative is designed to systematize the growing work pressure on staff, as the office handles an average of 200-300 customers daily.

With a limited workforce, it has become increasingly difficult to manage the influx of visitors. The robot will assist customers with general inquiries and provide answers to over 600 NTC-related questions.

The customers can now ask questions to the chatbot that will answer. With the help of the chatbot, the customers can also recharge the phone, give feedback, register complaint, learn about offers.
