A Dell unit in Australia has been fined $6.5 million for misleading customers about discounts. The Federal Court of Australia on Monday (yesterday) ordered a local unit of Dell Technologies Inc to pay a fine of 10 million Australian dollars (6.5 million US dollars) for making misleading representations on its website about discounts for add-on computer monitors.
In legal action by Australia's competition regulator, Dell Australia was found guilty by the Federal Court in June of misleading customers about prices or discounts on add-on monitors on the company's website.
