Social network Tiktok is officially listed in Nepal. Gajendra Kumar Thakur, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, informed that the registration process of short video platform was completed before Tihar, but only on Tuesday, Tiktok company got the certificate of being officially listed in Nepal.
Tiktok has committed to help in the investigation of cybercrime and increase public awareness in Nepal, and is ready to accept the laws and conditions of Nepal, and has also expressed commitment to help in tourism promotion and digital literacy.
The government shut down Tiktok on 27 October 2080 saying it was disrupting social harmony. But after about nine and a half months, the current government decided to lift the ban on Tik Tok with conditions in a cabinet meeting on August 6, 2081.
