The Foldable iPhone Features and Price

According to reports, the ‘iPhone Fold’ could be released in late 2026, possibly alongside the iPhone 18 series. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that Apple is aiming to launch a foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026.

Similarly, according to Mark Gurman, even if the phone is released in late 2026, its main sales could take place in 2027. It is also said that the project could be delayed until 2027 if there are issues related to production or durability.

In terms of design, Apple is likely to adopt a book-style foldable design, which is expected to be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. When opened, the phone will look like a small tablet and the inner screen is said to be around 7.7-7.8 inches. When closed, the outer display is expected to be around 5.5 inches, similar to a normal smartphone.

Apple is said to be preparing to use special technology to reduce the display crease (fold line), which is considered the main challenge of foldable phones. According to reports, Samsung Display is likely to remain as the display supplier. There is talk that Apple may use the nearly crease-free foldable OLED panel that Samsung demonstrated at CES 2026.

On the camera side, the phone is expected to have a four-camera setup, including two rear cameras, a selfie camera on the outer screen, and an under-display camera on the inner screen. Apple is also expected to use Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID for biometric security.

Apple is said to use a strong metal alloy called Liquid Metal in the hinge to increase the durability of the phone. It is also expected to use a 5,000 to 5,800mAh battery, a new A-series chip, and Apple's own modem.

On the software side, it is said that apps will run in an iPad-like layout and split-screen can be used to take advantage of the large screen, which is expected to improve the multitasking experience.

In terms of price, the foldable iPhone is expected to be Apple's most expensive iPhone yet. Its price in the US could be between $2,000 and $2,500.
