The Council of Ministers has given its approval to maintain inter-connection between Citizen App and National Identity Card. "Grant approval to maintain interoperability between the National Identity Management Information System and Citizen App," the decision reads. This proposal was submitted to the Cabinet by the Ministry of Home Affairs at the request of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
According to Shivraj Sedai, information officer of the National Identity Card and Registration Department, it mainly covers three subjects. Under this, when registering a user on the citizen app, registration must be done on the basis of the national identity card, the user can view details such as his name, address, gender and national identity card number on the citizen app, and the verified data of the national identity card can be used while applying for any service through the citizen app. Along with this, it is said that the option of national identity card will appear in the citizen app in the near future.
