September 2024, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are Apple's current flagship phones, sold alongside the higher-end iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Pricing starts at $799, and the iPhone 16 offers a good balance between functionality and price. If you're looking for a step up, Apple has the iPhone 16 Pro models with upgraded A18 Pro chip, bigger displays, ProMotion display technology, and triple-lens camera system.

The iPhone 16 looks different from previous iPhones—the camera arrangement is vertical rather than diagonal—but otherwise, they're identical. The iPhone 16 Pro range better resembles their predecessors but is slightly bigger: the iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch screen (up from 6.1 inches), and the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 6.9 inches (up from 6.7 inches). The phones aren't dramatically bigger, but Apple has shaved the borders around the screen to maximize screen space.
iPhone 16 Pro models to make the extra cost worth it for consumers, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are incredibly capable devices that are going to last for years to come.
Apple Intelligence and iOS 18
What will make your new iPhone 16 actually feel more new are many of the changes in iOS 18—I've rounded up the top features here. These include things like the ability to rearrange home screen icons wherever you want, changing the color tint of the icons, and even customizing the Control Center. You can finally hide apps from the app library or lock them so they're only accessible via authentication.
Memory
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have 8GB RAM, the minimum required for Apple Intelligence.
Storage Space
Entry-level iPhone 16 models start with 128GB of storage, but there are 256GB and 512GB options available for additional money.

A few things to note
Choose a strong passcode. Avoid using passcodes that can be easily guessed, such as your date of birth and consecutive numbers.
Keep the option to activate the passcode after the phone is slipped. If you keep this setting, you have to enter a passcode to open the display after a certain period of time when your phone is inactive. Change the passcode regularly. Updating the passcode from time to time increases security.
