The government is going to introduce a national AI policy. On the occasion of National ICT Day on 2024 Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Ramakrishna Subedi said that the National AI Policy is in the process of being formulated. "The National AI Policy is being formulated to make the use of new technology artificial intelligence (AI) systematic and safe," said Secretary Subedi.
Speaking at the program, Subedi informed that the upcoming program will focus on digital transformation as there is a lot of potential in the field of information technology. For some time now, voices are being raised about regulating the technology 'AI', which has been in discussion around the world and has also posed a challenge. Some countries in the world are already preparing to regulate AI.
Some time ago, the European Union passed a law regulating AI. The European Union has introduced a law to regulate AI for the first time in the world.
Apart from this, the US, China, India, Brazil, Israel, Italy, Japan, UAE and other countries have also advanced the process of regulating AI. Now the Nepal government has also moved forward to make the use of AI safe and orderly.
