Kathmandu. Companies are declaring dividends in a hurry. From the profits earned last year, the companies have started distributing dividends to their shareholders. So far, 60 companies have distributed dividends to shareholders, including 20 companies, 25 mutual funds and 15 other companies listed in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).

From the profit of 2080/81, it is proposed to distribute a total of 15.53 percent dividend by 10 percent bonus shares and 5.53 percent cash of the current paid-up capital of 11 billion 7679 million 3 thousand rupees.

Citizens Bank has cashed 568 million 38 thousand 960 bonus shares of 14 billion 209 million rupees at the rate of 4 percent from the profit of last year 2080/81 and 20 million 98 million 96 thousand 787 rupees at the rate of 0.21 percent for tax purposes. A total of 4.21 percent i.e. 59 crore 79 lakh 35 thousand 747 rupees has been proposed as dividend.

Unilever Nepal has proposed to distribute 1,714 percent dividend to the shareholders from the profit of last year 2080/81.

AP Power Company distributed a total of 9.47 percent dividend to the shareholders from the net profit of last year 2080/81 with 9 percent bonus shares and 0.4737 percent in cash for tax purposes. However, the Electricity Regulatory Commission has said that the company's dividend has been stopped.

Sanima Reliance Life Insurance has proposed to distribute bonus shares worth 769 million 65 thousand rupees at the rate of 18.38 percent of the paid-up capital of 4 billion 184 million rupees from the profit of the year 2079/80.
