The outgoing president of Computer Association Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) Nawaraj Kunwar has been re-elected as the vice president of Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO). Kunwar was re-elected to the post for the upcoming term of 2024-26 from the annual general meeting and convention of the association recently held in Japan.
Kunwar has also been representing the CAN federation and has been playing the role of vice president since 2022 in the association and held the position of co-vice president in 2020-22. After being re-elected as the vice president, Kunwar said that his efforts to establish Nepal on the international stage have gained more energy.
Kunwar said, "I am trying to establish Nepal on the international stage in the field of information technology. By creating a strong technology system in Asian countries through association, Nepal can be given a place in the world ICT sector, which will open new opportunities for innovation, growth and international cooperation. Also, I believe it will help reduce the gap between developing and underdeveloped countries in Asia."
Representing PIKOM in the new working committee, representatives of information and communication technology organizations from Nepal, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong, Myanmar and Japan were elected as vice-chairmen under the leadership of Stan Singh, president of Malaysia.
